The 3com datasheet is for PCI, ISA (8 & 16 bit) and PCMCIA. This chip can d=

all. It might even be possible to use an PCI 3COM card?

The CF cards now have 8..10 pin connectors and the web is full with code ab=
out
them. I think Javier tried them too.
Trouble is, an old PC has 100's of MB storage and costs $5. So if you have =
any
power available, a logging PC is much better. Connect it to the net and you=
can
do remote reprogramming too.
If the boards arrive (will be shipped july 9) I shall try to squeeze the UD=
P in
a bootloader so we will be able to reprogram the PIC over the net.
